Description

Austrian silver table box; of rectangular form with the most amazing lid; the sides are decorated with foliate engraving, the underside is plain and the lid is a joy to behold. The lid is a riot of decoration with a central miniature of lovers in a rural scene surrounded by a border of seed pearls and garnets; this is surrounded by a filigree ground over a plain background, and the outside edge is a border of garnets. The interior is beautifully gilded, the entire piece is of good size and weight and the most exquisite craftsmanship.
