The hood with brass inlaid reeded canted corners, surmounted with a finely fretted cresting with the three original brass finials. The sides of the hood with circular glazed viewing windows .
The very fine eight day duration, five pillar, deadbeat escapement movement striking the hours on a single bell
The 12" circular enamelled white dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and calendar zones and makers name and place of work to the centre.
Matching spade design blued steel hands.
Original matching brass cased weights.
Very substantial and large pendulum bob with knurled rating nut.
Provenance: Inscribed to the inside of the trunk door the property of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, Holnicote House, Somerset.
