Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The original leather covered prayer book is intact and in superb condition with gold edging to the pages with gold embossing to the front and spine. The interior is in lovely condition with the ribbon intact. I don't think this has been used very much at all over the last 110 years.
There is of course a full English hallmark for London 1902, early Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present.
The holder measures 2" x 1 1/2" with a full length including the chain measuring 4 3/8". The miniature book itself measures 1 7/8" x 1 3/8".
