A Mahogany Late Victorian Period Antique Writing Desk by Gillows

Description

A mahogany Late Victorian Period antique writing table by Gillows of Lancaster. Having a solid mahogany rectangular top with an inset dark green Moroccan leather writing surface (probably the original), above two mahogany lined frieze drawers. Each drawer having aesthetic style brass handles. Supported on bulbous ring turned legs united by an H stretcher and with brass castor's. Stamped Gillows Lancaster to the right hand drawer. English circa 1880-1890

Dimensions: 36" wide x 20" deep x 30" high (24" high knee hole)

Condition: This writing table is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed. A beautiful colour and patina. Minor scuffing to the leather consistent with age and use
