Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The sliding central panel releases the locking mechanism for the six drawers. The writing surface having a brown gilt and blind tooled inset leather above an arrangement of five mahogany lined drawers and with a central shaped and carved knee hole. The desk supported on four cabriole legs with carved knees terminating in a knurled foot with brass castor's. The desk being stamped Gray goose of Great Queen Street, London who were a prominent London cabinet maker of this period, beautiful choice figured veneers though out, circa 1850-1860
