The "piano" top opens to reveal a sliding fitted writing section with a green leather inset, ink well and pen trays. The leather surface with an adjustable ratchet. The secret "pop up" section is accessed through a concealed spring loaded mechanism inside one of the internal drawers,it opens to reveal a well fitted stationery/letter rack. The lower section having four mahogany lined drawers to the right hand side, beautifully veneered in figured walnut with turned drawer pulls. The left hand section with four "dummy" drawers. The upper section having pierced and carved walnut bracket supports, the whole supported on a shaped walnut veneered plinth with turned bun feet and inset brass and porcelain castors, English circa 1860-1870
