A Pair of 19th Century Windsor Chairs

Description

Elegant and very pleasing to look at, identified as Lincolnshire chairs and made by Thomas Marsh or his son, James in Sleaford, between 1820 and 1840 this is a near matched pair of Yew wood and Elm stick back elbow chairs with crooked arms raised on turned supports joined by stretchers. Generally in very good condition, the pair have a great colour and patina, there is evidence of old woodworm but it is inactive.

Heights - 38.5" and 37" (98 & 94cms)

Width between arms, both - 21.5" (54cms)

Width, seat - 19.5" and 19" (49.5 & 48cms)

Depth, seat - 15" and 16" (38 & 41cms)
