Large Antique English Heart Shaped Travel Inkwell C.1880

Description

A larger example than normal, pretty scarce to come across in this highly desirable heart shape.

Covered in a deep Burgundy coloured leather, there is a button to the front under the leather which is pushed to release the id. The interior is gilded and beautifully engraved with a domed cover to the ink chamber below. The little lever to the side is used to release this lid. Once opened the glass ink chamber is revealed, removable for easy refilling and cleaning.

The underside is lucky enough to retain an original label. Lovely condition, measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 5.8" tall.
