Taxidermied Royal Stag's Head.

1900 - 1920
Description

Very impressive mounted red deer stag’s head with six points to each antler meaning it can be described as a ‘Royal’. Naturalistic taxidemy of exceptional quality, presented with his head turned to one side, on a large oak shield. Featuring a plaque recording it as having weighed in at 16 stone 4lbs when it was shot on the famous Glendye estate in Aberdeenshire on September 29th, 1927. Damage to one ear, otherwise a truly superb example in excellent condition.
