Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
W.LEWTY'S PATENT' below a crown. The frame of the chair is in good condition but the upholstery which is an emroidered silk showns signs of wear to the seat with some rips and tears. The seat is lumpy - so this is more of a decorative item in its current upholstery. Overall an unusual, highly decorative and high quality statement piece.

Costruction:
Rosewood.
Condition Report:
The frame of the chair is in good condition with a few minor marks commensurate with age. The upholstery is worn, there are some rips to the fabric on the seat and there are marks and discolouration. Would benefit reupholstery but still an attractive and decorative piece.
