Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is upholstered in a deep rose pink suedette type material which shows lots of signs of age and wear and has marks and discolouration to the top.

The upholstery is worn and there are marks and discolouration to the top. Would benefit reupholstery but still an attractive and decorative piece. A split to the foot which has been glued. There are marks to the back of the top rail where brackets have been used to secure the top (now glued). Some slight give to the upright where it joins the seat.
