Fine Quality English Regency Penwork Jewelry Box in Chinoiserie C.1820

Description

A particularly fine quality English Regency period Jewellery box, dating to around 1820, the decoration being very fine and meticulous.

The box stands on it's original highly decorative Lion's paw feet with a wonderful gilded finish; the handles to are very grand, original, again with a gilded finish.

The box opens to reveal a professionally re-finished interior in a soft black faux-suede, perfect as a background for some special gems.

The box retains it's original lacquer finish which remains in spectacular condition; complete with a working key. 11 1/4" x 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" tall.
