This is an extremely rare clock because it has a twin train (two winding springs) movement which has full Westminster chimes.
It chimes 4 notes at quarter past the hour.
8 notes at half past the hour
12 notes at quarter to the hour
16 notes at the full hour followed by the hour strike.
This is most rare as almost all twin train Westminster chiming clocks only strike the hour at the full hour.
The chimes are on perfectly tuned blue steel gongs and sounds divine.
The very small size also makes this very desirable as it measures just 9" high, 7" wide and 5" deep.
The quarter sawn English oak case has a wonderful rich colour and patina and the grain really does shine through, this is complimented by the original silver dial with a contrasting brass door.
The case also has glass side windows so that you can see the superb movement in operation.
The movement is an outstanding piece of engineering and has its original platform balance.
The movement has just undergone a full service so you can be assured that this clock is in tip top condition and will give trouble free service for many years to come.
It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week.
As you would expect from the Crown jewelers this is a clock of the very highest quality.
The clock comes with a full 12 month warranty.
