Antique Swedish Inlaid Marble Top Commode

1900 - 1920
Description

Antique Swedish marble top commode chest on shaped legs, with some intricate marquetry, gilt mounts & many different woods. I'm not sure of all the different woods involved, but some of them look like walnut, rosewood & kingwood, plus there is fine inlay too. The original rouge marble top is in good condition as is the rest of this piece. I particularly like the two marquetry figures in the middle. There are two drawers, with a key & handles, gilt mounts & feet. I would say this piece dates from around the 1910 period & it has a lovely original colour.

Depth - 16.5", 42 cm

Height - 28.7", 73 cm
