Antique English Burl Walnut and Tunbridge Inlaid Jewelry or Desk Box C.1860

Description

A really fabulous example of it's type, particularly good quality and superb condition.

The top and front is veneered in the most beautiful burr Walnut with it's rich Cognac colour and decorative curly grain. The front and top are inlaid with fine quality geometric Tunbridge inlay and the edges ebonised.

The top is inset with a Mother of Pearl plaque with complimentary Nacre shell escutcheon, complete with a working key.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined in a marbled paper, creating a fresh and clean interior ready for use.

Excellent condition (one old small corner repair, shown) with a good bright patina. 10" x 7" x 6" tall.
