A most unusual and highly decorative desk-top accessory, a delightful Edwardian inkstand made from English Sterling silver and antique tortoiseshell.

The large piece of shell is a tapestry of exquisite colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown, the beauty of the natural shell, showcased by it's bright shiny patina.

The gallery is created from thick heavy gauge sterling silver with four integral feet.

The glass inkwell is topped with sterling silver and stands in it's sterling silver holder. All the silver has matching hallmarks for London 1907 and the makers initials HA are also present for the top-notch silversmith's, The Atkin Brothers - Harry Atkin. Excellent condition, the base measures 6 1/2" at widest x 5 1/4" at deepest; the base of the glass inkwell measures 2" square.
