~~ Excellent condition ~~
The case is by P.H. Mourey and is classical in style, restrained and chic with beautifully modelled floral swags draped around the front corners.

The dial is formed as part of the large front panel and is finely painted with a scene with cherubs and doves. The centre of the dial is painted with an exotic nesting bird amongst foliage and flowers. Dial is lettered in roman numerals with white 'jewel' half-hour markers which are all present. The side panels are similarly decorated with exotic birds and flowers and the top of the clock is surmounted by a large porcelain mounted urn. The case makers mark P.H. Mourey is on the rear of the case and the porcelain is signed on the rear along with the movement serial number - see pictures below.

The set is complete with its original suite of gesso bases.
The Japy Freres movement is of this makers usual high quality, it has both the Japy Freres mark and the Paris retailers mark A. Carlhian & Beaumetz. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell and is complete with original pendulum and bell. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. See our website to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is very good, the gilding is worn in places and there is some bubbling. There is a small piece of metal missing from below one of the candelabra urns, this is at the rear and is not noticeable. The porcelain is also in very good condition with no chips or cracks except for a small chip at the bottom of the left hand side panel. This is partly obscured by the case and is hardly noticeable. The over-glaze gilt decoration is in very good condition, just some slight wear to the dial, but the rest is fresh and complete. The dial panel has faded very very slightly in comparison to the side panels.

The gesso bases are in excellent condition with some slight chips and minor wear. The velvet is clean and just has some wear to the edge and some minor marking where the clock has stood on it. The set looks absolutely stunning as you can see in the pictures below!
Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
A very decorative clock set, a stunning centrepiece!
