Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
It is in very good condition, although there are a couple of barely visable small soldering marks under the decorative leaves, and a tiny piece just above the leaf holding a shade but just looks like dark brass.
We have tried to show this in photographs 1 and 4, and it would not be seen once the light is in position.
At the top of the ceiling fitting is a brass disc that unscrews to allow it to be fitted flush to the ceiling.
