Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The legs terminate in metal shoes impressed with a makers mark (worn away and unintelligible) It shows signs of wear to the shelfs were sections of the lacquer has worn away (see photos) and a small piece of bamboo has been replaced on the top section. A particularly attractive piece of furniture which would make a lovely bookcase, hall table or bedroom unit etc..
