Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1800s.

It has the makers label underneath the chair which reads "J. Kendell and Co No.60404" along with the "Workman's Name" which has been hand signed "Boothe". A fascinating piece of provenance.
John Kendell & Co were employed by the Earl of Harewood at Harewood House, Leeds between 1818-22, and at Farnley Hall, Otley between 1833-34 and adopted a policy of labelling their furniture from the 1830's. The firm was taken over by Marsh and Jones in 1863.
