Description

A really magnificent George III tea caddy in a most unusual shape, this harlequin design is rarely seen in this oval shape.

The caddy is decorated with all-over Ivory and Tortoise Shell in a highly sought-after Harlequin design. The lid opens to reveal a fully decorated lid and a turned ivory knob.

The mounted escutcheon and ring finial are of silver.

An absolute first class museum quality example in fabulous condition. 4 3/8" x 2 5/8" x 4 1/4" tall. The box comes with a working tasselled key.
