Fine & Unusual Georgian Tallboy Chest on Chest Circa 1740

Description

With fine reeded, canted corners, made up of sectional mouldings, and, what would appear to be, original BRASS HANDLES and ESCUTCHEONS, this FINE GEORGIAN CHEST ON CHEST dates from circa 1740.

The CHEST on CHEST follows the WALNUT tradition of this period in its method of construction. However, rather than using WALNUT, the Cabinet Maker has chosen an unusual and exotic ROSEWOOD/PADOUK to please his Client.

The drawers are all OAK lined and have the rounded tops to their sides. The bracket feet are original.

Width: 41.5 inches (105.5 cm)

Depth: 22.5 inches (57 cm)

As can be seen from these dimensions it is able to used either in a Reception Room or Bedroom.
