Antique Early 18th Century Georgian Carved Oak Box Settle C1730

Antique Early 18th Century George 11 Carved Oak Box Settle and with carved initials M S and the date of 1730. Having profuse tracery and with a high seven carved panelled back rest and shaped sillouette downswept armrests with turned cup and cover supports above a plank seat with iron 'H' hinges ( with plenty of internal storage) and four carved panels to the base standing on raised original stile legs. It has panelled sides and original panelled back and is hand & peg joined. Possibly North Country.

Measures: 44" high x seat height 19" x 22" deep x 53" wide

A superb and rare 18th Century Carved Joined Oak and with a lovely deep colour and original patination to the oak and in very good condition oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
