Description

Very impressive antique French card table, with a wonderful shape & fabulous ormolu mounts. It's in lovely original condition, with a warm original colour & just the right amount of wear to the gilding. There is ormolu around the top edge, on the front middle plaque, on the knees & on the feet. There is more running around the front & sides too. I think it's mainly kingwood, walnut & maybe some mahogany, but it's hard to tell. The top section spins around & folds over to reveal a baize playing surface, which is in good condition. I would say this card table dates to around the 1910-20's period. Please enlarge all the images, especially the gilded figures, to appreciate the fine details.
