A charming small portrait of a young gentleman holding what is probably a riding crop.
This is Alleyne's favourite size of canvas.
FRANCIS ALLEYNE (working 1774 - 1790).
He specialised in small, oval three-quarter lengths; these are often highly sensitive and of considerable charm.
