Antique English Chinoiserie Penwork Double Compartment Tea Caddy C.1820

Description

An absolute gem, hardly ever seen in such magnificent condition, so well preserved dating to 1820, Regency in period, approaching 200 years old.

The top is decorated with a stunning Chinoiserie scene with classical decoration on all sides. The caddy stands on four Lion's paw feet and rings handles with highly decorative plates with a pair of over-flowing Cornucopias.

The interior is an absolute joy. with the two lids decorated with figural scenes as is the interior of the lid, quite charming.

Magnificent in every way, you will have to go some to beat this example. Excellent condition, measuring 7 7/8" x 4 1/2" x 6" tall. Complete with a working key.
