Antique Tunbridge Ware Box by Thomas Barton, Late Nye (Original Label) C.1850

Description

A fabulous Victorian box, more unusual as it is made from Coromandel rather than Rosewood. The top is inlaid with a bouquet of Roses in micro-mosaic Tunbridge Ware work and the sides too decorated all around.

What makes this a rather special and highly collectible piece is the original underside in red leather and the original makers label for T. Barton Late Nye, Manufacturer, Mount Ephraim and Parade, Tunbridge Wells.

The interior is joy too as the original paper lining is intact and in excellent condition. The box also retains it's original key in working order. A fabulous piece in superb condition measuring 8" x 6" x 3".
