Description

Dating to the late Victorian, this fabulous pair of letter scales have the most wonderful complete set of bell - shaped weights, amazing to find them all intact, they are so easily lost over a 100 year period.

The base is made from solid Mahogany and stands on four turned bun feet. The right-hand pan is engraved with the rates of the day which allows us to accurately date these to the late 19th century. The retailer's label is also present engraved and inked and mounted to the front for "Mawson, Swan and Morgan, Newcastle"

A wonderful set in superb condition, measuring 9" x 5" x 5 1/4" tall.
