Description

Another fine example of Sanjabi Kurdish weaving from the 3rd quarter of the 19th century. Salt bags like this are now very rare and this one, along with the other bags illustrated on this page, were acquired yesterday from a deceased estate where they were treasured for many years. This 'namakdan' salt bag is in near perfect condition with original tassels and flatwoven back - all in saturated vegetable colours.

Size: 46cm x 41cm ex. tassels (1' 6" x 1' 4" ex. tassels).
