English Sterling Silver and Tortoise Shell Jewelry Box - London 1920

Description

A handsome example of a sterling silver and Tortoiseshell Jewellery or trinket box standing on four exquisite cabriole legs.

What makes this more desirable is the side panels of shell on all sides as well as the large panel to the lid beautifully inlaid with fine silver pique.

The hinged lid fits well and opens to reveal a navy blue silk lining to the base. There is a full hallmark for London 1920 together with the makers initials C & A for the silversmith, Collett & Anderson.

Superb condition measuring 4" x 2 1/2" x 2" tall.
