Description

A very original, fine quality quarter sawn oak 30 hour day longcase clock, by Thomas Hallam of Nottingham, circa 1820.

The well proportioned case, with swan-neck pediment hood, surmounted by a brass finial.

Beautifully ebony and boxwood inlaid columns to the hood.

Typical Nottinghamshire style case crossbanded throughout with mahogany.

Beautiful "Walker & Hughes of Birmingham" arched japanned dial, with revolving moonphase to the arch and finely painted corners.

The well made 30 hour movement striking the hours on a single bell.

Finely fretted original brass hands.

Cast iron weight and brass faced pendulum bob.

A very good small proportioned clock, with beautiful detail, complimented by a well executed painted dial with interesting revolving moonphase.
