A Superb Rosewood Early Victorian Breakfront Bookcase

Description

A Superb quality Rosewood Early Victorian breakfront bookcase. Having an upper section of breakfront outline with a stepped and moulded cornice above four glazed doors, which open to reveal an adjustable shelved interior. The lower section again of breakfront outline having the top veneered in striking rosewood veneers, above four panelled doors having exquisite re-entrant moulded corners, again with beautifully figured rosewood veneers, enclosing an adjustable shelved interior. The whole supported on a rosewood veneered breakfront plinth. Such is the quality of this bookcase, the rosewood veneers have been laid onto the finest quality mahogany and then internally ie. the back of the doors have been painted to simulate the rosewood veneers, a sign of a truly top quality cabinet maker circa 1850

Dimensions: 97" wide x 97.5" high x 18" deep

Condition: This bookcase is in completely original condition throughout, a beautiful warm patination which we have enhanced with a waxed finish.
