French Ormolu Bronze Mantel Clock

Description

A high quality French ormolu bronze mantel clock. The original case gilding with musical instruments to the side and surmounted by two love birds. A white marble case standing on adjustable feet. A convex enamel dial with blue numerals and fine gilt hands. An 8-day duration silk suspension mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Circa 1850.

Signed to the dial 'Gille L'Aine a Paris' who are recorded in Tardys 'Horologers Francais' book.

Height 10" / 26cms. Depth 7 1/2 " / 19cms Width 4 " / 10cms.
