Antique Large Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Double Wardrobe with Secret Compartments C1900

Superb Large Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Wardrobe with Secret Compartments and dating form around 1900. Constructed from quality mahogany and of most unusual design it has a shaped cornice top above a cross banded frieze with inlaid chevron stringing and above two shaped full length bevelled mirrored doors set within mahogany frames with chevron stringing and internally with brass hanging rail and original hooks. To the base there are two deep drawers both of which are mahogany lined with original brass handles and with chevron stringing. To each side there is a bow fronted column from cornice to top of drawers and is edged with chevron stringing. To the top of the column id the most beautiful inlaid motif of swags and harebells and a fruitbowl all inlaid with rosewood, olive woods, mahogany and ivory. To the base of the each column there is strung panel which opens to reveal a SECRET COMPARTMENT ( see photographs)It stands on a plinth base on bracket feet.
