This is a Good Size Piece, the superb maple top which is made with end on grain has seen a few years of fairly hard work and is full of character it has a delightful hollow to one side, but still has a great deal of useful life left in it and a wonderful patination. The block has metal bound corners and iron rods through the centre, the maker’s label P.Gillet Le Mans
The stand has been given a spruce up with its legs painted, and it has a deep drawer, as this piece is French we have taken the precaution of having it treated for woodworm
The block its self is 7” deep and is 30” high on its base, the block is 39” long and 24” wide
