Description

This pair of antique English Bergere armchairs are top quality, solid walnut, hand carved, with figured walnut on the central back splats. They are shaped & carved all over with double cane on the sides. One of the outside back corners of the canes has been pushed in & there is a bit of damage, but I will get that seen to professionally before sending them out. They also have ball & claw feet. I would say they date to around the 1900-1910 period & they are in lovely condition. We have just had them re-upholstered, with new plump feather cushions. The back ones have been shaped out to show the shell carvings on the tops of the backs. Those of you who are familiar with my web site, will be used to seeing the Swedish Satinbirch Bergeres I regularly get. I will be getting more of those very shortly, but this pair are a one off, so I can't repeat them.
