Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.

Inscribed on a tablet to the front, and similarly titled and signed on an original label to the reverse.
WILLIAM COLLINS RA., was born in 1788, the son of an Irish-born picture dealer. He showed great aptitude for art at an early age and was for a while, a pupil of George Morland. Interestingly in 1815 he embarked on a sketching tour of the Norfolk Coast, near Cromer and it is possible that this was painted during that trip. He became a Royal Academician in 1820, and died in 1847
