Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
I think the majority of the outside wood is mahogany & Kingwood, plus there are some wonderful marquetry panels, with many exotic woods & floral inlays. These are on all the drawer fronts & on the sides too. The drawers are chamfered on the edges & they all have original locks. This commode has a lovely original warm colour & has plenty of character. I would date it to around the 1880-1900 period.
