A Good and Small 8 Drawer Victorian Satin Walnut Collectors Cabinet Circa 1890

Description

This eight drawer cabinet was almost certainly originally supplied by messrs watkins and doncaster of the strand or gardner of oxford street, london. It is typical of it's type and would have housed a collection of butterflies, moths or other insects.it is suitable for a multitude of collecting pursuits.

The cabinet has eight drawers with closely fitting glazed drop in frames to afford protection for the items displayed within. The internal drawer bases have a layer of cork and are papered over in the traditional style. The drawers are consecutively numbered from 1 to 8.

This size of cabinet lends itself to being positioned at the end of a sofa, as a bedside cabinet or, indeed, as a table top or side cabinet. The top surface is ideal for a lamp or ornament.

Altogether an attractive, versatile and very useful collectors cabinet at an affordable price!

Width. 18 inches.

Front to back. 10.75 inches.

Front to back. 9.5 inches.
