A stunning original antique French boudoir clock set, retailed by the Paris retailer J Pratt. It is beautifully modelled in gilded brass in the Rococo style. Sweeping C scrolls, elaborately flowing floral swags and shells adorn the waisted shape. It sits upon dainty scroll feet. Candelabra are conforming in style with matching bases and 3 branches of entwining foliage. The Rococo snuffers sit in the middle nozzles as finials when not in use.

The dial is enamel on copper with separate minute and hour rings. The mark of the Paris retailer J Pratt, Comptoir General, Boulevard Poissonnière is signed on the dial and on the backplate of the movement. The Rococo bezel is fitted with convex glass and the rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The set makes a stunning display as you can see below.
