A beautiful large Robert Watson oil on canvas depicting a mist clad Scottish highland mountainous scene with cattle watering and a loch in the distance, housed in the original gilt gesso frame, signed and dated, English circa 1881

Dimensions: Frame 36" high x 48" wide Canvas 24" high x 36" wide

Robert Watson was born in 1865 and lived in Southport, Lancashire and one of a family of highland scene painters. Watson exhibited in Glasgow and Liverpool, despite the high quality of his work he never made the journey down to London to exhibit there. His work was always of excellent quality with superb detail and a delicate and sensitive palette.

Condition: This painting is in stunning condition, it has been cleaned and re-varnished. The frame has been re-gilded
