This is a beautiful mantel clock by the famous French clockmaker Japy Freres.
It has corinthium columns to each side and decorative palm or foliage leaves to the top, the gilt really does compliment the black marble beautifully.

As you would expect from Japy Freres it has a fine high grade French movement with Brocot escapement and Brocot fine regulation. It is totally original and has just been serviced so is in tip top condition and should give trouble free service for many years to come.

It comes with its original numbered pendulum and both keys.
It runs for over 8 days between winding and strikes on the hour and half hour.
This clock dates from about 1880 and has obviously been highly prized and looked after, the condition is a credit to its previous owners.
