A quality Georgian mahogany longcase clock. A well proportioned case with rich colour and patina. An arched trunk and standing on the original bracket feet. A wavy hood door edging and brass capped fluted hood columns. A swan-neck hood pediment with the original brass finial. An arched painted dial with gold and green corners and a well painted country scene to the arch. A date dial and seconds indicator. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
Most Welsh Longcase clocks are from the Victorian period, a Georgian example is much harder to find.
