Unusual Antique English Egg Cruet with Open Salt C.1890 - Silver Plate

Description

One of the most unusual egg cruets I have had for a while, with the superb egg cups each having a swing handle and being created in basket weave.

The other unusual feature is the integral open salt to the top underneath the handle. The four hanging egg cups interspersed with hanging egg spoons.

The very grand footed base is marked on the underside but the makers mark is not clear enough to make out, EP can be seen for Electro-Plated. It certainly dates to the late Victorian era and remains in superb condition. The base measures 4 1/2" and the cruet stands 9" tall to top of handle. Each egg cup stands 2" excluding the swing handle with a rim diameter measuring 1 7/8".
