Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The oak case has lovely turned and molding decoration very much in the Arts and Crafts design.
It definately has that country feel to it, very impressive and would look wonderful in a period or country home especially perhaps for someone who collects blue and white porcelain.
The clock strikes the hours and the half hours on a bell and sounds rather sweet.
The movement is an absolute gem and it is keeping accurate time.
Dimensions of clock: Height 11 inches , Width is 7.5 inches, Depth 5 inches.
There has been some restoration to the case which can be seen from the photographs but all in all this is a lovely clock.
