Description

A magnificent 18th Century Style "Chinese Chippendale" gilt Japanned & Chinoiserie decorated serpentine commode. The top is of serpentine outline and richly painted with oriental figures in landscape, above two short and two long graduated serpentine drawers, similarly painted. All between canted stiles and supported on a gilt wood painted stand with blind fret apron and elaborated pierced scrolling legs. The sides also painted with typical oriental foliate detail, English circa 1900-1910

Dimensions: 52" wide x 24" deep x 34" high

Condition: This commode is in excellent original condition, minor wear to the gilt
