Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The cabinet was built by druce of bakers street, one of the finest cabinet makers of the era.
The stand also has a long drawer within, which disappears into the front skirt.

All the drawers are solid mahogany and have removable glazed frames which fit snugly. Each drawer has a hidden universal cell to the inner perimeter.
This cabinet was originally designed to be for entomological use but would lend itself to a multitude of collecting pursuits. The drawers will accommodate continental length pins if required and they have a base layer of cork and are paper lined.
