Magnificent Large Oil Painting of King Charles by John Hollins RA 1798-1865.

John Hollins was born in Birmingham and studied in Italy. He became famous as a Portrait painter and also specialised in historical subjects and themes based on work by writers such as Shakespeare and Goethe etc.

He elected to and exhibited many paintings at the Royal Academy as well as other leading London Galleries.

Excellent quality, wonderful colours and superb detail to this large painting.

The dimensions overall including frame are 57"x 47"
