Antique English Silver Plated Bread Basket by John Round C.1900

Description

A very elegant and usable bread basket made from silver plate with cut-out handles to each side.

The sides have a simple vertical pierced or reticulated decoration.

The underside has the full mark for the well renowned silversmith John Round and Sons of Sheffield using the trademark "All The Round". The mark would appear to be pre-1874 as "Ltd" is not included in the mark; I however think this piece would date to around 1900.

Excellent condition, the base measuring 8" x 4 3/4" and the rim measuring 11 1/2" x 7"; standing approximately 3 1/" at tallest point.
