Description

Fabulous pair of period antique Georgian bedside chests in solid mahogany, with a lovely original patina & colour. They have 4 drawers in each, with old brass fretwork handles & locks in all the drawers too. They sit on original ogee feet. Basically, I bought a period partners desk from the 1790's, which had two double pedestals with four sets of drawers in each (back & front). The top wasn't great, so we have turned the pedestals into small chests. This way they are in all essence original, but obviously have replacement backs. There are a lot of made up bedsides on the market, but they are normally too high & don't look right, because they join up the three bottom drawers to the top drawer of an old desk or dressing table. This pair are just the right height & have a great look.
